A geographic information system ( GIS ) is a type of database containing geographic data (that is, descriptions of phenomena for which location is relevant), combined with software tools for managing, analyzing , and visualizing those data. In a broader sense, one may consider such a system to also include human users and support staff, procedures and workflows, body of knowledge of relevant concepts and methods, and institutional organizations.
This thread is dedicated to all forum member who specialise in GIS and Surveying, but also novice users, who want to learn basics and get into this vast new knowledge world. In this thread will be posted links to tutorials and webinars (free or paid-but made free for all) for every software and technique to make the life of the Surveyor Engineer easier, where most commonly used are : ESRI ArcGIS / Pro , QuantumGIS (QGIS) , WebGIS (Using Leaflet, GeoServer, Python and QGIS) , anything related to Imagery, LiDAR and Sensing (BlueMarble GlobalMapper, Pix4D etc) and also every other Software Related to Geotetic Hardware (Trimble, Leica, Topcon etc). Feel free to share your experience here. Posting webinars and tutorial links is allowed. Posting official user manuals is allowed. Posting non official literature is allowed only under the condition that is a link refering to the LAVteam Literature Thread. No medicines or software, but references will be made for the user to find easily everything in other forum threads. |
